This EP was created and produced over a few summer months living in Norway. It was really informed by travels there. I listened a lot to demos and rough takes while walking through parks and forests near my home. I did a lot of recordings by streams and of wind in the trees. I wanted to use this sense of atmosphere to be a backdrop for this set of ambient tracks.

The tracks also have a sense of nostalgia to them. While ambient music has the great ability to get us in touch with nature, it can also trigger some human and personal emotions. Recording these triggered memories of growing up in a small town and the relationships there. Particularly thinking back on teenage years, when there seems to be this vast emptiness ahead of everyone. The title of the EP "The Last Ones Left Behind" (or originally We Were The Last Ones Left Behind) refers to the feeling that everyone else around seems to be moving on, and that life is changing. There is a certain melancholy to this.
